Nursing has struggled to point out as a scientific discipline through history, because of the difficulty of defining their main task. Over the last thirty years, different theories and research have emphasized the importance of psychological care in nursing. Psychology has historically highlighted the needs of people in the illness and the change of the environment, and it has revealed the consequences if disagreement of these needs arises. In order for a nurse to provide quality psychological care, it is necessary to be open, honest, transparent, to accept the patient unconsciously and to sympathize with his problems. Some authors have emphasized the importance of self-interest as far as their own thoughts, knowledge and wishes are concerned. It is important to accept oneself with all flews and virtues in order to establish quality interpersonal relationships. Healthcare professionals should also take care of themselves, because under constant stress, a "burn-out" syndrome may occur. Also, it is necessary to practice good communicative, as it has been scientifically proven that "halo-effect" can affect the future co-operation or lack of patient involvement. Nurses need to monitor the behavior of patients, recognize their stressors, and how it relates to them, their appearance needs to be monitored, sometimes a disfigured appearance can reveal the patient's psychological condition, that is, whether there is any possibility of depression. From the above, we conclude that psychological care is important in the work of nurses and that it enables them to improve their work. In the future, it is certainly expected to focus on psychology in education, but some feel that adequate psychological care will not be able to provide until the better conditions for providing it.
