Cesarean section is an operation in the area of abdominal surgery where we open the front abdominal wall and uterus to give birth to child and placenta. We performed C-section when there are absolute (small pelvis, placental abruption, placenta previa) and relative (macrosomal child, breech presentation of the first twin) indications. C-section can be performed in general or regional anesthesia. Regional anesthesia is most commonly used and has been shown to have less complications. Activities of the midwife before C-section are preoperative preparation or the women (preparation of documentation, thromboprophylaxis, antibiotic prophylaxis, shaving, enema, psychic preparation, introduction of urinary catheter and insertion of intravenous cannula) and preparation of the cesarean section set. In the operating room, the midwife must respect the rules of aseptic and antiseptic. After the extraction of the newborn, the midwife does the first care of the newborn (drying the baby, airway management, care of the stump, put the identification marks, anthropological measurements an eye infection prevention) or, if it is necessary, the midwifes starts reanimation of the newborn. It is very important to ensure the skin to skin contact between mother and child. In the postpartum period, the midwife controls the involution process, educates the women about breastfeeding i teaches her about how to take care of the baby.
