Abstract
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) je velik javnozdravstveni problem diljem svijeta. Vjerojatno, najmanje 150 – 200 milijuna ljudi diljem svijeta ima HCV infekciju, bolest koju uzrokuje virus koji inficira jetru. Hepatitis C može izazvati cjeloživotne infekcije , a tijekom vremena može uzrokovati fibroze, cirozu jetre, rak jetre , zatajenje jetre i smrt. Hepatitis C se prenosi krvlju. Za izazvati novu infekciju, HCV mora proći iz krvi zaražene osobe u krvotok nezaražene osobe. Odnosno korisnici koji su dijelili igle ili drugu opremu za ubrizgavanje, uključujući i kuhala, te mjerne šprice, su u najvećoj opasnosti od HCV infekcije. Najviše oboljelih, kao i kliconoša u SDŽ je od 20 do 29 godina. Muškarci se zaražavaju i oboljevaju gotovo 3 puta više u odnosu na žene. Incidencija oboljelih od HCV-a na području SDŽ je veća od stope incidencije na području RH.
Abstract (english)
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a large public health problem throughout the world. Probably, at least 150-200 million people around the world have HCV infection, a disease that is caused by a virus that infects the liver. Hepatitis C can cause lifelong infection, and over time can cause fibrosis, cirrhosis of the liver, liver cancer, liver failure and death. Hepatitis C is transmitted in the blood. To cause a new infection, HCV must pass from the blood of an infected person in the bloodstream of an uninfected person. Or users who share needles or other injecting equipment, including cookers, and the measuring syringes, are at greatest risk of HCV infection. Most of the sufferers, as well as carriers in SDŽ from 20 to 29 years. Men make patients sick, and the aliens almost 3 times more compared to women. The incidence of patients with HCV in the area of SDŽ is greater than the incidence rates in the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
