INTRODUCTION: Cervical cancer is the formation of neoplasms on the cervix. Neoplasms are actually abnormal cells that grow uncontrollably. Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers that we can prevent without the changes even occurring since it is caused by the HPV. Women's education is a health education activity for every midwife. The health education activity consists of all the advice given to the patient, to make the patient aware that it is important to take care of their gynecological health. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this paper is to present the activities of midwives in the prevention of cervical cancer, to determine a woman's knowledge and attitudes about cervical cancer and to assess a woman's awareness of sexual health care by going for preventive gynecological examinations. The only goal is to show the activities of midwives in the prevention of cervical cancer. METHODS: 946 women of all ages participated in this study. The inclusion criteria were women of reproductive age and menopausal and postmenopausal women. The measuring instrument for this research is the Questionnaire of knowledge and attitudes of women of reproductive age on the prevention of cervical cancer created through the Google form. The survey was conducted in April 2021. The questionnaire consists of two components, the first part consists of 12 questions that respondents answered by filling in a blank field or select one of the offered answers in the drop-down menu, and the second part of the questionnaire consists of 12 questions. Form of the claim, and the possible answers are correct, incorrect and I do not know. RESULTS: The survey showed satisfactory results, most women (74.4%) regularly go for gynecological examinations once a year as well as for a Pap smear. Almost most of the respondents had heard of HPV infection. To the statement "Cervical cancer can be prevented by using condoms", the majority of respondents (41.60%) answered this statement incorrectly. The majority of respondents (81.9%) believe that women in Croatia are not well informed about cervical cancer. CONCLUSIONS: The conducted research resulted in satisfactory data on the knowledge and attitudes of women on the prevention of cervical cancer. Through her activities, the midwife educates women, promotes responsible sexual behavior, encourages women to go to regular preventive gynecological examinations and thus raises awareness of caring for their own health.
