In most surgical procedures, the wound is primarily closed, while the procedure on the tonsils ends with an open wound, and therefore it is necessary to adjustthe patient's diet to avoid infections and additional bleeding. Of the absolute indications for surgery, the most important is when the patient has more than 5 episodes of sore throat per year. Of the relative indications for surgery, we can say that one of the most important is when the patient suffers from chronictonsillitis, chronic sore throat and bad breath for a period of one year. The nurse has a very important role in preventing complications caused by the procedure, but also in timely recognition of minor and severe complications. The nurse is always with the patient, even when the doctor is not, and provides psychophysical assistance before and after surgery. Creates a health care plan with all the patient's diagnoses and at the end evaluates the completed tasks. Educating the patient about life habits after surgery ensures a satisfactory quality of life.
