Abstract
Kolelitijaza je bolest žučnih putova koja u današnje vrijeme pogađa oko 10% svjetske populacije iznad četrdesete godine života. U ovom radu opisuje se učestalost pojave žučnih kamenaca, osnovne funkcije jetre i nastanka žuči. Razrađena je prijeoperacijska priprema bolesnika, neposredna priprema dan prije operacije i na dan operacije, te postoperacijski tijek oporavka. Obrađene su moguće postoperacijske poteškoće i hipovolemijski šok kao jedna od mogućih postoperacijskih komplikacija. Također je opisana kirurška obrada rane, posebno prvo previjanje i drenaža s naglaskom na T-drenažu hepatobilijarnog trakta. Naglašena je važnost pravilne prehrane i zdravstvenog odgoja nakon operacije kolelitijaze. Posebno je naglašena uloga medicinske sestre u procesu liječenja i oporavka bolesnika koji boluje od kolelitijaze.  
Abstract (english)
Cholelithiasis is a disease of the bile ducts that affects about 10% of the today's world population over the age of forty. The paper describes the incidence of gallstones, the basic functions of the liver and bile formation. Preoperative patient preparation, immediate preparation the day before surgery and on the day of surgery and postoperative course of recovery are elaborated. The study describes the possible postoperative problems and hypovolemic shock as one of the possible postoperative complications. It also describes the surgical treatment of wounds, especially the first bandaging and drainage with emphasis on T-drainage of the hepatobiliary system. The importance of proper nutrition and health education after a surgery of cholelithiasis is stressed. The role of nurses in the process of treatment and recovery of patients suffering from cholelithiasis is also emphasized.
