The aim of this paper was to show diagnostic treatment of the cervical spine trauma. In order to ensure an adequate finding of the primary cause of the pain and to prescribe appropriate therapy, it is necessary to perform a diagnostic treatment. Today's radiology includes radiological diagnosis and intervention. In order to detect the causes of cervical trauma, X-rays, computerised tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MR) etc. are used. When selecting a particular scan, always remember the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive and negative predictive value of the diagnostic method. The false negative result refers to the incorrect conclusion that there is no trauma and a false positive result to an incorrect conclusion about the existence of a trauma. The accuracy of the diagnostic method is the ratio of the correct results to all results. Positive and negative predictive values relate to the reliability of positive or negative diagnostic results. Contemporary techniques give a very large amount of picture material to be processed. However, this leads us to the more qualitative diagnostic treatment of the cervical spine trauma, enabling more effective treatment of such a trauma. They are divided into the traumas of the upper and lower cervical segment, spasms of the cervical spine, as well as spinal cord trauma without radiologically visible damage.
