Fractures and dislocations of the upper extremities is one of the most common injuries faced by radiological technologist, radiologist and traumatologist. Teamwork decides which technique and the method to use to diagnose certain injuries of the upper extremities. It takes a good knowledge of anatomy and experienceto figure out which method will better show the structure that we need in such injuries. In the choice of imaging techniques it is necessary to examine well medical history, mechanism of injury and the proposal of traumatologist. For any suspected fracture or dislocation of upper limbs method of choice is the conventional radiography, which is done in two projections, anterior and lateral.Radiologist plays a key role in diagnosing bone traumas which are sometimes difficult for interpretation. He can recommend the best imaging technique, to provide additional images, or indicate modernimaging methods (such as CT or MRI), to show the injuries that can be hardly noticed on conventional radiograph. The key role of radiologic technologists in all these methods is to present the necessary structures as good as possible using their skills and experience.
